в Реджайні UCC Regina is pleased to announce that Olena Shyian has been hired as our Immigrant Settlement Advisor commencing July 5th, 2010. Olena's primary role is to welcome newcomers and help them and their families develop the personal tools and resources needed for success in living and working in Saskatchewan. Olena will be working in close cooperation with the Newcomer Welcome Centre, which is funded by the Immigration Services Division of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Employment and Labour -- to serve newcomers from a broad range of linguistic, ethnocultural and spiritual backgrounds. Olena will be working from the UCC Regina office building located at 1801 Winnipeg Street in Regina. Olena can be reached by calling 757-8835 or by email uccregina.sa@sasktel.net. 2010 Ivano-Frankivsk Program at the U of R Host Families are required for 5 Ukrainian Exchange Students from Ivano-Frankivsk University, Ukraine. The students will be in Regina for about 3 months commencing September 3rd to December 1st. The National Ukrainian Women's Association of Canada announces a visual arts competition in honour of the 50th Anniversary of its official publication, Promin. Open to all up to and including age 25, the competition has 3 categories -- web page design, cover page design, open category -- and will award $250 cash prizes for winning entries. Regina Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, performing under the stage name Kolos, is currently seeking proposals and applications for the position of Artistic Director / Instructor / Choreographer. The Virsky National Dance Company of Ukraine with a cast of 50 professional dancers under General Artistic Director Myroslav Vantukh will perform October 16 through 20 in Saskatoon, Regina, Melfort, Prince Albert and Yorkton. Presented by Boen Arts. FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES UCC-SPC's Community Development Fund Deadline September 1 Guidelines, application form Rawlco radio supports Saskatchewan artists On Tuesday, June 15, Rawlco Radio announced its donation of $1 million to the 10K20 Saskatchewan program, which would fund 20 Saskatchewan-born artists per year for the next four years. Each of the 80 artists selected will receive $10,000 to create a CD of their work. For more information on this program visit www.rawlco.com/10k20/. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Ukrainian Canadian Congress is Now Accepting Nominations for Shevchenko Medal The Board of Directors of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress will be considering applications at its September 2010 meeting. Applications received by August 30, 2010 will be considered for award at the Triennial Congress in Edmonton this November. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES Vegreville Ensemble Seeks Female Dance Instructor A Ukrainian female dance instructor is required for Fall 2010 for the Sopilka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble Society. Sopilka has been in existence for over 26 years. We are a competitive dance group and school with over 50 dancers ranging from 3-17 years of age from Vegreville, Alberta. Our open position is for a female instructor who is willing to work on Mondays in Vegreville and has at least 4-6 years of experience. We are looking for an individual willing and wanting to grow with the club. Application deadline is July 22, 2010.
