Nation Builders & Community Recognition Awards

UCC Saskatchewan announces changes to the 2020 Nation Builders & Community Recognition Awards program

Taking into account the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our province and our community members, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress of Saskatchewan announces the following changes to this year’s recognitions program:

  1. Beginning Friday 15 May, nominations will re-open for the 2020 Nation Builders & Community Recognition Awards. The new deadline is Tuesday 30 June.

The reason for the extended deadline is that the provincial pandemic state of emergency and self-isolation regulations have impacted the ability by community members to coordinate the nomination of those they wish to see honoured. As the province begins to re-open, people will once again be able to turn their thoughts and effort to preparing the necessary submission for their friends, colleagues, mentors. Please note that nominations already received do not need to be resubmitted.

  2. In-person Awards Ceremony Postponed to 2021 - At this time it is unclear that the annual Nation Builders & Community Recognition Awards luncheon would be possible. In response, UCC Saskatchewan is exploring alternative plans for 2020 to ensure the worthy selected recipients are duly honoured this fall for their meritorious contributions.

These adjustments have been made for the health and safety of our community members. UCC Saskatchewan regrets any inconvenience.

UCC Saskatchewan encourages you to take advantage of the new June 30, 2020 deadline and nominate that member of your community that you feel is deserving to be so honoured. During this time of uncertainty, let’s work to celebrate the worthy contributions of our community’s volunteers and leaders.

The nomination form and guidelines are available at https://www.ucc.sk.ca/images/stories/services_programming/nationbuilders/NBCRA-Nomination-Form-and-Guide-2019.pdf.
