August 11, 2008 -- The KRACHUN family -- Andriy, Oksana and Dmytro -- visited the Immigration Program to thank staff for settlement support. The Program provided a bed, table and chairs to the arrived family through its household donations project. Oksana arrived a week ago from Ukraine and has already registered for ESL Classes. Dmytro heads into his first Canadian year at the Ukrainian Bilingual School in Saskatoon. Welcome to Canada!

On May 28 and June 16, 2008 -- Three newly arrived Ukrainian welders who will be working for a Saskatoon company were met by Ukrainian community representatives at the airport. The Program also provided for them furniture and household items donated by Saskatoon’s community. Welcome! Ласкаво просимо!

May 9, 2008 -- Forty-one welders from Ukraine working in Saskatoon attended an Information Session on Apprenticeship in Welding. The session was organized by UCC-SB and held at SIAST.

May 5, 2008 -- The UCC-SB Immigrant Settlement Program welcomes six Ukrainian welders invited by CNH. Information packages and household items were provided for these skilled workers. The Program will also assist them with various settlement issues in Saskatoon. Ласкаво Просимо!

February 2, 2008 -- The Ukrainian Immigrant Settlement Program of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress - Saskatoon Branch delivered a workshop for Ukrainian immigrants "PLANNING SUCCESS IN SASKATOON".

November 21, 2007 -- Four Ukrainian workers arrived to Saskatoon to work for Hitachi Canadian Industries and Industrial Machines. Companies' HR Directors Mr. Flowers and Ms. Foster, UCC-SB Immigrant Settlement Program Coordinator Serhiy Kostyuk, Immigrant Support Services Director Walter Garchinski, and previously-arrived Ukrainian co-workers met and welcomed them to Saskatoon.

November 19, 2007 -- Serhiy Kostyuk presented the findings of the 2007 survey of recent immigrants from Ukraine to Saskatchewan at St. Thomas More College.

November 13, 2007 -- Four more workers from Ukraine arrived to Saskatoon. The UCC-SB welcomes them and will do its best to assist with settlement and adaptation processes.

November 10, 2007 -- Immigrant Settlement Coordinator visited immigrants from Lvivska and Zaporizka oblasts of Ukraine in their apartments in Saskatoon.

October 19-21 -- Slawko Kindrachuk, Serhiy Kostyuk, Albert Kachkowski, and Larry Balion from the Ukrainian Canadian Congress - Saskatoon Branch took part at the XXII Triennial Congress of Ukrainian Canadians "Connecting our Community" of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress in Winnipeg, MB.
   Serhiy Kostyuk presented on "The Ukrainian Immigrant Settlement Program of the UCC-SB: Problems and Accomplishments" on October 20, 2007.
   The UCC-SB approach for assisting Ukrainian immigrants with their settlement and integration issues in Canada was recognized as the model for all the UCC branches dealing with recent Ukrainian immigrants.

HR Manager Monte Liebrecht, CNH Ukrainian Immigrant Coordinator Leonard Prokopchuk, Immigrant Support Services Director Walter Garchinski, and Ukrainian and Canadian co-workers met a group of newly arrived Ukrainian workers to Saskatoon (below). October 14, 2007 -- UCC-SB Immigrant Settlement Program Coordinator Serhiy Kostyuk along with UCC-SPC Immigration Settlement Coordinator Serhij Koroliuk, a company's representatives, and Canadian and Ukrainian co-workers expecting Ukrainian colleagues met a group of Ukrainian workers who arrived to work in Saskatchewan. September 29, 2007 -- UCC-SB Immigrant Settlement Program and Westeel met a new group of Ukrainian workers, accompanied by KYLC Manager Liliya Bilous, who arrived to work for Westeel in Saskatoon. Welcome!

September 28, 2007 -- The UCC-SB Immigrant Settlement Program was invited to the Ukrainian Orthodox Holy Trinity Cathedral's parish appreciation dinner for members and newly arrived immigrants from Ukraine. Parish priest Rev. Taras Makowsky welcomed newly arrived immigrants and called for cooperation among organizations and individuals to help immigrants with their settlement problems.

September 2, 2007 -- UCC-SB Immigrant Settlement Program volunteers visited Ukrainian workers in North Battleford and took part in a social event welcoming their arrived spouses and recognizing the support of Ukrainian Canadians. Ukrainian hand-made embroidered shirts were presented to those Canadian-born Ukrainians who kindly supported Ukrainian workers as they settled in Saskatchewan.

September 2, 2007 -- UCC-SB volunteers along with representatives of a local company met a group of Ukrainian workers in Saskatoon. The group, supervised by Immigration Program Manager Oksana Sayenko from the Kyiv Youth Labour Centre, arrived to work for one of the companies in Saskatoon. Welcome!
