Ukrainian community members at MAS conference
The Museums Association of Saskatchewan 2004 Annual Conference
takes place April 22-24 in Kamsack and will feature expertise and
talent from the Ukrainian community.
Janet Danyliuk, Director and Curator of the headquarters
of the Ukrainian Museum of Canada (in Saskatoon), will be a presenter
at the Breaking Down Barriers session on Friday the 23rd. She will
examine social issues facing “ethnic museums” in the 21st century,
reconciling and revealing historical issues and truths, relevance
of ethnically-specific museums in multicultural community and their
place in the museum & larger community, and addressing stereotypes.
As well, Canora’s Veselka Ukrainian Dance Group will
be performing at the banquet on Friday April 23, 2004.
