15 April 2004 -- UCC-SPC invites interested students to apply for the summer position of Information Technology Programming Assistant. The position, which has an expected start date of 03 May, will focus on 2 key areas:

  1. redesign and expansion of the UCC-SPC Web site, specifically working on youth and on-line resource sections
  2. design and construction of a Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Saskatchewan Provincial Council PowerPoint presentation.

The UCC-SPC Web site (www.ucc.sk.ca) is an important vehicle for the Ukrainian Canadian Congress to communicate with community members as well as the broader community. UCC-SPC began the expansion of its site in the summer of 2003. We see increasing numbers of visitors seeking community, cultural, historical resources as well as a means to keep within the informational loop of community activities.

Another recent and increasingly common medium for communication is the PowerPoint presentation. UCC-SPC board members and staff are regularly requested to meet with community members and organizations across the province. Having a PowerPoint presentation would be a most useful tool. The Intern’s responsibilities would also include a staff training component on how to utilise and modify the presentation.

UCC-SPC values the contribution that youth can make to the organization and our community and seeks every opportunity to engage youth in the workings of the office / organization.

Anticipated outcomes for Information Technology Programming Assistant:
