YAN at Regina symposium, Sask Legislature meetings during Youth Week

Free From Harm Youth Symposium at the Rainbow Youth Centre, Regina

YAN Project Coordinators Lee Reaney and Victoria Morris hosted an information booth at the Free From Harm Youth Symposium at the Regina Rainbow Youth Centre as part of its activities for Youth Week (May 1-7). Lee spoke to the youth about YAN and how to get involved with the project.

Youth Action Now Meeting with Honourable Joan Beatty, Minister of Culture, Youth and Recreation

Youth Action Now Project Coordinators Lee Reaney and Victoria Morris, along with YAN Organizing Committee Members Danylo Puderak (Executive Director of UCC-SPC) and Wade Luzny (General Manager of MCoS) met with Minister Beatty to discuss Youth Action Now. Ministry of Culture Youth and Recreation (CYR) Strategic Policy and Youth Senior Policy Analyst Nevin Danielson also attended the meeting.

Youth Action Now provided the Minister and staff with an orientation to the project and an update on progress to date. YAN and CYR discussed how to coordinate efforts with the Province’s Youth Advisory Committee and Youth Action Now’s Youth Advisory Committee and other ways to complement each others’ work.

Youth Action Now Project Coordinators Lee Reaney and Victoria Morris, along with YAN Organizing Committee Members Danylo Puderak (Executive Director of UCC-SPC) and Wade Luzny (General Manager of MCoS) met with Minister Thomson to discuss Youth Action Now. Ministry of Learning- Languages, Culture and Community Executive Director Armand Martin attended the meeting as well.

YAN informed the Minister and staff about Youth Action Now and examined how YAN and the education system can most effectively work together.

YAN presented Mr. Kowalsky with an overview of Youth Action Now and an update on what has happened so far with the project.
