Introduction:
The Ukrainian Catholic Education Foundation teaches North Americans
about the academic and financial needs of Ukrainian Catholic educational
institutions in Ukraine. In a sincere commitment to personal involvement
and high standards, UCEF works with these institutions hands-on
to meet present needs and develop resources for the future. Through
grant and endowment programs, distribution of books and teaching
materials, and collaborative volunteer projects, emphasizing foreign
exchange of students and faculty, we foster the communion of Ukrainian
Americans and Canadians with the Ukrainian nation and of Roman Catholics
in the West with the largest Eastern Catholic Church.

Employment offer:
The Ukrainian Catholic Education Foundation based in Toronto is
seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual with extensive experience
in the non-profit and/or corporate sector to develop a nationwide
fundraising campaign serving the educational needs of the Ukrainian
Catholic community. The Managing Director-Canada would answer to
the Executive Director UCEF North America, and would work closely
with clergy and lay leaders as well as strategic partners in various
universities and institutes of higher learning. Duties and responsibilities
would include:
- Developing a nationwide and regional fundraising plan for major
donor outreach in Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg with eventual
expansion to British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
- Recruitment of competent high impact volunteers, philanthropists
and corporate leaders for a Capital Campaign
- Solicitation of major charitable gifts for Ukrainian Catholic
educational programs
- Preparation of annual organizational budget and staff work plan
with a clear delineation of staff responsibilities and a process
for evaluating staff performance
- Regular reporting to the North American Executive Director on
execution of fundraising plan, deliverables & progress vis-à-vis
campaign targets
- Management of office staff
- Close contact and coordination with local support committees
- Fostering an effective dialogue with Ukrainian Canadian bishops,
clergy and prominent lay leaders to ensure growth and strengthening
of the Foundation’s brand and prominence throughout Canada
Qualifications:
- An appreciation for and willingness to support the UCEF’s mission.
- Experience in managing a team of people.
- Must be a leader, a person who takes the initiative – a “self-starter.”
Must be able to manage a staff and various key relationships.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, handle multiple tasks simultaneously,
and work independently.
- Organized and efficient.
- Flexible to changes in tasks and environment.
- Willing to travel 25-50% of time and as required.
- Experience in developing and managing a budget, financial bookkeeping
and financial planning and operations.
- Education level: College degree or higher.
- Respect for the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
- Must be a team player.
Compensation and benefits:
The compensation for the individual hired will be based on experience
and qualifications. The UCEF has a reputation for compensating employees
