St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Catholic Eparchial Day Camp 2021 (8:00 am)
St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Park near Pike Lake (located 15 km outside of Saskatoon on the Pike Lake Hwy)
Camp registration was full as of June 8
July 6-12
Ages 8-14
With the uncertainty the pandemic brought to the camp world, the crew from St. Volodymyr Camp decided to dust off an old idea and bring it to life. Our site is only a 15-minute drive from Saskatoon and this makes for a perfect situation to host a day camp. Families will drop off their kids in the morning and pick them up after supper. Camp will follow all the guidelines laid out by the provincial government to reduce the spread of covid-19 in our community. We are enthusiastic about developing a creative program that incorporates the safety required and plenty of fun and excitement too! We are so thankful to all those organizations and individuals who have supported our camp during a difficult year. Your supportive messages and donations have fueled our enthusiasm to move forward with this Day Camp project.
The purpose of St. Volodymyr Camp is to provide an opportunity for youth to explore and experience the richness of Ukrainian Catholic cultural identity. We offer educational programs in the form of games, religious activities, hikes, sports, arts & crafts, songs, swimming, and other summer camp activities. We celebrate arts and culture of the Ukrainian Catholic community with a goal of enhancing the connectedness of Ukrainian youth to God and a strong cultural identity. As campers grow into young adults, they have opportunities to contribute back to the program by becoming part of the staff team or planning committee. We appreciate watching youth grow into community leaders using the experience they gained through the St. Volodymyr camp program.
