Dare to Dance: Call for video submissions

June 27, 2005 -- Danny Austin, Artistic Director of RBC Dominion Securities Dare to Dance, along with Dance Saskatchewan Inc. is inviting all dance groups to submit auditions on videotape for this year's event, October 8, 2005 at Saskatoon’s Centennial Auditorium.

The theme for this year's Dare To Dance is "...Outta The Box," representing infinite potential and reflecting the ability to move outside perceived limitations by embracing obstacles and discovering what lies beyond even our imagination. Dancing, thinking, living out of the proverbial box.

Choreographers, teachers and dance groups are asked to submit their audition videos showcasing their best work or works in progress with a five-minute video of an entertaining, professional, extremely well rehearsed piece for consideration. These can be pre-existing pieces or brand new pieces to be choreographed especially for the night. You are encouraged to choose a Saskatchewan artist from any art form as your inspiration. You are invited to share your creative and innovative pieces with the entire province of Saskatchewan as we celebrate the joy of dance.
