Language Lanterns Publishes Desperate Times

a new trilogy of short stories translated from Ukrainian to
English. The selected 18 authors explore the human impact
of the social, political and economic upheaval in Ukraine
from the tumultuous opening days of the 20th century, through
World War I, the 1917 Russian Revolution, and into the early

-- The UWC sent a letter today to Kharkiv Mayor Hennadii Kernes,
with copies to Ukraine President Viktor Yanukovych and Parliament
Head Volodymyr Lytvyn, calling for the restoration of a memorial
plaque dedicated to the former head of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic
Church, Patriarch Josyf Slipyj. The plaque disappeared from
its spot on the building in which he was imprisoned in 1961.

-- Yarmarok is a Ukrainian Bazaar usually held in city and village squares.
We will be using our main gallery as our village square, filled with an
assortment of vendors for your shopping pleasure. And our front gallery
will be transformed into "The Bells of Hope" Bistro by Nashi: For Our
Children, featuring Ukrainian snacks. The Museum will be buzzing with
roaming minstrels, a children's choir, and an adult choir for your listening

Fall Fest was blessed with a lovely, sunny day to celebrate

society. Over 2000 people attended the celebrations throughout
