8th Annual King of Kovbasa Challenge
a UCPBA fundraiser for the Saskatchewan Abilities Council

February 4, 2009 -- The UCPBA of Saskatoon will be hosting its 8th annual King of Kovbasa Challenge on Thursday, February 12th. The King of Kovbasa has become an annual tradition for the UCPBA, having raised thousands of dollars for local charities since 2001. This year, funds raised will go to the Saskatchewan Abilities Council.

The King of Kovbasa Challenge features the finest gourmet sausage from top producers in the province. The evening is filled with Ukrainian dancing performed by Pavlyechenko Folklorique Ensemble, music by Matthew Gruza and friends, a silent auction and a grand door prize donated by GMG Jewellers. The evening will also feature key sausage commentary from host Steve Shannon of CJWW and a panel of local celebrities, who will provide their insight into taste-testing gourmet sausage.

Entrants for this years even include:

  • 2008 King, Emco Finer Foods (Saskatoon)
