Sask Deputy Premier to be Presented with Ukraine
Award by Ukraine's Ambassador
Hon. Ken Krawetz and Two Regina Volunteers will be
Honoured at Dinner and Awards Ceremony
August 21, 2009 -- Ukraine's Ambassador to Canada,
His Excellency Ihor Ostash, will visit Saskatchewan next month to
confer on the Honourable Ken Krawetz one of that country's highest
civilian awards.
Saskatchewan's Deputy Premier will be presented with the Order of Prince
Yaroslav the Wise, Level V -- Ukraine's equivalent to the Order of Canada
-- for his work in legislating provincial recognition of the Ukrainian
Famine of 1932-33, or Holodomor, as genocide.

UCC Regina Branch President Orest Warnyca and UCC-SPC Past President Eugene
Krenosky will also be recognized. Each will receive the Government of Ukraine's
Medal for Meritorious Work and Achievement.
UCC-SPC is hosting the formal awards dinner and presentation in
honour of the three medal recipients. The event takes place the
evening of September 23 (reception begins at 6:00 PM) at the Delta
Regina Hotel and Convention Centre in Regina.
