Regina "In Baba's Trunk" conference focuses on family tree research

The Saskatchewan Ukrainian Historical Society's "In Baba's Trunk" conference
is being held in Regina at the Ukrainian National Federation Hall (1731
St. John St) on Saturday, November 13, 2004. The sessions at "In Baba's
Trunk" will focus on researching your family tree in Canada and in Ukraine.

The day begins at 8:30 am and will end with a tour of the Saskatchewan Genealogical Society library at 4:30 pm. There are four sessions:

  • It Started With a Plough: early settlement patterns in Saskatchewan,
  • Where in the World Did We Come From?: the history of the changing borders in present day Ukraine,
  • The Papers in Baba's Trunk: utilizing research resources in Canada, and
  • Pack the Trunk, We're Going to Ukraine: utilizing research resources and traveling to Ukraine to research.

The Saskatchewan Ukrainian Historical Society is busy planning the next visit of “In Baba’s Trunk” to Regina. SUHS and the trunk will be in Regina on Saturday, November 13 at the Ukrainian National Federation Hall. For this visit to Regina, SUHS, the Regina Ukrainian Canadian Professional & Business Association and the Saskatchewan Genealogical Society are working together and expanding on the May session, “Your Family Tree”.
