You are invited to attend our monthly Ukrainian Canadian Professional & Business Association of Saskatoon luncheon.
The guest speaker will be our Past President, Adrian Boyko. He will be speaking about the Ukrainian Canadian Professional and Business Federation meeting which he attended in Toronto recently. The Federation has reconstituted itself and looks to have a very positive and vibrant future. It will start to operate like a true federation. This can and will be exciting times for the Federation and UCPBA.
We will also have Marnie Howlett in attendance. She will be presented with the first Dave Mysak Leadership Award by Sonia Mysak on behalf of the Mysak family and UCPBA.
Adrian has been married to Sonia for 42 years; they have three children -- Kathryn, Tara, and Ryan -- and seven grandchildren.
Adrian has been employed in the financial services industry for the past 41 years, and is currently the Regional Sales Manager for Equitable Life, Saskatchewan.
In 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2013 Adrian was awarded Manager of the Year for a territory based upon Split Targets. From the community perspective, Adrian was also the proud recipient of the Canada 125 Medal. The Queen’s Jubilee Medal, the Nation Builders Award from UCC-SPC as well as the Shevchenko Medal, the national Ukrainian community's highest award for service.
Adrian has been on two Government of Saskatchewan Committees, dealing with Multiculturalism. This work culminated in the introduction of new multicultural legislation for the Province of Saskatchewan.

Maryka Gulka-Chabluk Presentation at Ridna Shkola (12:30 pm)

All children are invited to come and participate in this program.
Maryka will bring costumes and props to engage the children in songs and stories. Children will be marching, dancing, singing and participating in the program. The songs are all presented on musical CD with accompanying sing-along activity book called, "Maryka's Treasures."
The book may be purchased for $9.95, CD for $17.95, or the package for $24.95. The songs, puzzles, word searches and colouring activities are both entertaining and educational, appealing to children and adults alike!
Maryka Gulka-Chabluk is a singer, songwriter and teacher from Regina, presently living in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her passion for song and dance has opened doors to performing in Italy, Japan, Australia, United States and throughout Canada. As a successful recording artist, Maryka has four folk CDs to her credit. Children have inspired her current release, with an accompanying sing-along activity book called, “Maryka’s Treasures”. Children are eager to sing along with imaginative songs, while dancing, acting and engaging in activities developing their creative talents. The book is beautifully illustrated by Caryl Chua, capturing the essence of every song. The bilingual format makes learning Ukrainian or English fun and easy. Discussion with John Foster, Petroleum Economist Canadian International Council South Saskatchewan branch is pleased to present John Foster, a Canadian expert on the world oil scene, to discuss the role that oil plays in major international conflicts, including in Ukraine, Syria, and Iran, among others.
A petroleum economist who has worked in more than thirty countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America with the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and two oil companies (BP and Petro-Canada), Mr. Foster will probe the narrative of recent conflicts and identify hidden resource rivalries.
There will be signs leading the way from the entrances of the Language Institute and the Administration-Humanities Building. Parking will be available for CIC members and members of the public in Lot 3. For those who need closer parking, there are also meters available in Lot 1 near the Ad-Hum Building.
