11:45a UCPBA Saskatoon Luncheon (11:45 am)
Flanagan's Steak House, Senator Hotel (243 21st St E, corner of 21st St & 3rd Ave), Saskatoon
You are invited to attend our next Ukrainian Canadian Professional & Business Association of Saskatoon luncheon. We have a jam packed agenda, so show up early.
We have not one, but two lawyers from Cuelenaere Kendal Katzman & Watson: Michael Derbowka and Lane Zabolotney. They will talk about real estate, wills, tax, etc.
We will also be making the presentation of the David A. Mysak Leaderwship Award at the luncheon.
We hope to see you there!
Mike Derbowka is originally from Prince Albert and grew up involved in the Ukrainian community there – notably a number of years spent dancing with Barveenok (nd two trips to Ukraine with that group in 1993 and 1996. He has called Saskatoon home since 2005, when he commenced his articles at Cuelenaere Kendall Katzman & Watson. Following his call to the Bar in 2006, he quickly embraced the practice of real estate law and that continues to be his forte to this day. He is fortunate to love what he does and likes to think that this shows in his approach to his practice. He continues to Ukrainian dance as well – in the adult dance group ‘Solovei.’ His two kids also Ukrainian dance, but to date, his wife is unable or unwilling to do so. Lane Zabolotney was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He graduated from the U of S College of Law in 2014 and articled with Cuelenaere Kendall Katzman & Watson, where he now works as an associate. Lane’s practice focuses on estate law and civil litigation. He is currently enrolled in a course on Taxation of Trusts and Estates as part of STEP Canada’s TEP diploma program. In the future, Lane plans to enrol in the CPA In-Depth Tax Course and focus his practice on taxation.
